Conditions We Treat
The symptoms
are real.
The cause is findable.
For over three decades, Sierra Integrative Medical Center has helped patients who were told their labs were normal, their symptoms were imagined, and their condition had no name. We investigate where others stopped — and we treat the root cause, not the label.

The conditions we treat
are the ones others miss.
Chronic illness rarely fits neatly into a single diagnostic category. Lyme overlaps with autoimmune disease. Environmental sensitivities amplify chronic fatigue. Heavy metal toxicity masquerades as psychiatric illness. At Sierra, we are trained to see the connections — and to treat the whole patient, not a single lab value.
Explore each condition
at the root.
Tick-borne borreliosis — the fastest-growing vector-borne illness in the US, with an estimated 476,000 new cases annually. Standard testing misses 40–60% of cases. We diagnose and treat Lyme with advanced specialty lab panels, IV antibiotics, immune peptide therapy, and co-infection protocols targeting Babesia, Bartonella, and Ehrlichia.
Myalgic encephalomyelitis / chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) is a debilitating neuro-immune illness affecting 1–2.5 million Americans. Depression presenting with physical symptoms, cognitive impairment, and treatment resistance often has an underlying biological driver. We investigate infections, mitochondrial dysfunction, HPA-axis disruption, and environmental triggers that conventional psychiatry overlooks.
Autoimmune conditions — lupus, Hashimoto's, rheumatoid arthritis, Sjögren's, multiple sclerosis, and others — affect 24 million Americans. The immune system attacks the body it was designed to protect. We look for the trigger: chronic infection, molecular mimicry, gut barrier breakdown, heavy metal burden, and environmental toxin exposure driving immune dysregulation.
Fibromyalgia affects an estimated 4 million Americans — 90% of whom are women. Chronic pain is frequently dismissed or treated with symptom-suppressing medications that do nothing to address the underlying pathology. We investigate small fiber neuropathy, central sensitization driven by chronic infection, inflammatory cytokine cascades, and mitochondrial energy failure.
Mercury, lead, arsenic, cadmium, and aluminum bioaccumulate in tissues over a lifetime and produce symptoms that mimic virtually every chronic illness — neurological degeneration, cognitive decline, fatigue, immune suppression, and autoimmunity. Chemical toxicity from mold, solvents, pesticides, and industrial pollutants compounds the burden. We use advanced chelation and structured detox protocols.
Multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS), mold illness (CIRS), electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EHS), and mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS) are among the most misunderstood and dismissed diagnoses in medicine. Patients become reactive to substances and environments that others tolerate without issue — their bodies overwhelmed by cumulative toxic burden, immune dysregulation, and impaired detoxification.
The approach that
finds what's hidden.
What makes Sierra different is not a single treatment — it's a diagnostic philosophy. We do not stop at the standard lab reference range. We do not accept "everything is normal" when a patient is anything but normal. We look where no one else looks.
We use optimal ranges, not population averages. A lab value that falls within the reference range may still be pathological for that individual — and we know the difference.
Specialty labs clinicians rarely use — IGeneX, Galaxy Diagnostics, Vibrant America, RealTime Laboratories, Great Plains, Genova, and more. We do not let insurance formularies dictate which tests are available.
Multiple overlapping conditions. Treatment history that includes 15+ medications. Failed protocols from other integrative clinics. If your case is complicated, you are exactly the kind of patient we are equipped to treat.
We see patients from across the country and internationally via telehealth. Initial consultation, diagnostic planning, and ongoing follow-ups can be conducted remotely and coordinated with your local physician.
The next step
is a conversation.
New patients are typically seen within 2–4 weeks. Initial consultations are $550; labs and treatments are quoted separately. Remote consultations with Dr. Fong are available for out-of-state and international patients.
